Verbal Violence against Migrants in Institutions

VIOLIN is a cooperation project between linguistics, area studies, health psychology and psychosomatic medicine.

VIOLIN seeks to focus attention on hidden forms of violence against refugees and migrants that may affect their (mental) health but are particularly difficult to detect, document and study – as they are not carried out by physical force but through language, and behind the walls of public institutions. Further, the development of a theoretical working model of refugees’ and migrants’ integration in the host country and the sociocultural environment is planned.
